I took this photo at Lillie Park in Pittsfield Charter Township after nearly driving past it on my way to another park. This little park is a hidden gem with a gorgeous green lake in wide open space and tons of dogs.

My first thought after taking this photo was that the contrast between the historic gold tones of the ceiling and the sleek marble table was mesmerizing. Looking deeper at this contrast, I’ve found that it effortlessly shows how intertwined the timeless themes of the humanities and the cutting edge advances of the sciences truly are.

I took this photo on Tuesday when there was a lot of rain outside and the moisture caused the ice to melt and a light fog to grace the ground. I thought it was cool how we were transported to a time between the seasons.

I took this picture a few months ago while on a walk in the Matthei Botanical Gardens. I like to go to the Botanical Gardens when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed as the fresh air, beautiful paths and cute animals scurrying around always seem to calm me down and put things into perspective. If you have not yet been to the Matthei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor, I highly recommend taking advantage of the nice weather and visiting the gardens as it is a great way to practice self-care and well-being!
